Hitting the side buttons with back of hand

Sounds like someone had this same problem back in 2016, is this still an issue? I don’t like the suggestions given by other users of put on other wrist, put higher on arm etc. Has apple created buttons on left of watch as an option for left wrist wearing? I switched to Fitbit after giving the watch a go years ago but in the market for something new, wondering if Fitbit is still the way to go since their buttons are on the left of the screen

Change the watch band arrangement so when you put your Apple Watch on, the Digital Crown and oval button are facing your elbow.

Then using Apple Watch -> Settings -> General -> Orientation, change it so the watch face is correctly facing you when you lift you arm.

You still get to wear your Apple Watch on your preferred arm, but with the Digital Crown and oval button facing away from your wrist.

You may not like the suggestions but they are the ones available. If you are hitting the button with the back of your hand, it is definitely too far down on your wrist. Wearing it that way can also interfere with the accuracy of the sensors.

No, Apple does not make a watch with buttons on the left side. You can let them know it's something that you'd like them to consider here:
