Passcode changed itself

My iPhone change my passcode without any notice. Now I am unable to get in with only option to lose all my stuff with reset.

After some research I found out now iphone change passcode by itself to the apple pay passcode if the current screen code is weak(which is my what i had a 4 digit code) Huge design flaw.

I have all my other device with me with the same apple id and phone num, why is there no other way to use it to unlock it.

I don't remember my apple pay passcode since nfc has been broken.

Is there any solution to this massive design flaw, so I don't lose all my stuff?

Apple Pay does not have a separate passcode. It is the same passcode as your device.

Your iPhone did not change its passcode on its own. Your research is incorrect.

Your only option at this point is to erase your phone and restore it from your most recent backup. You were backing up your iPhone, right?

The Apple Pay passcode is the same as the lock screen passcode of your device. To change it, you need to go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode or Settings > Face ID & Passcode, depending on your device. Then, select Change Passcode and enter your new code. If you want to turn off your passcode and remove your payment cards from Apple Pay, select Turn Passcode Off.

If you can’t remember your Apple Pay passcode, you can reset it by following the steps provided by Apple Support.

My lock screen is 4 digits. Newer version of its always require 6 digits or more. Also this problem is widely popular than you think.

Where I has been researching : I went to apple store itself the tech guy told me often happen when add a new card either transport card or any. It either use previous 6 digit or more but it won't use a 4 digit weak password.

Secondly this a ongoing and popular problem in other fourm(xiaohongshu).

This is iphone is bought from AU

The more you know

1 hour ago , i tried unlocking my iphone 14 pro max (up to date) it didnt let me use face id with the “enter tour code to use face id “ message. The thing is the code to fill was 4 digits . Problem here? I had a 6 digits code for the past 4 years . I am talking about my 11 pro max ,12 pro max and now 14 pro max… you see, it is real . My brother knows my password. I asked him what my password was and he confirmed it was 6 digits ( and dont worry we are hundreds kilometres away from each other when this happened). I saw a guy saying that this hapened to him while using the phone . My iphone ve been acting laggy these days (before this incident)
