selective text forwarding with dual sim
I purchased an iPhone locally that turned out to be blacklisted. It’s my work phone, so it’s not usually kept independently from my personal cell. I’m using the iCloud number sharing feature to be able to make and receive calls, with the line in my plan designated for that phone currently on my personal as a dual sim.
So until I can afford a replacement, I’m trying to work with what I have. I have the personal number (pn) with full service with dual sims, and work number (wn) with no service, though consistent Wi-Fi and logged into the same iCloud account. The problem I’m facing is I want to ONLY forward communications meant for the wn to that second device, not both.
I’ve got work calls shared no problem. You’re able to select that setting for each number individually and I only selected it for the wn. All good there. For text messaging, I only see that setting under messages, which I assume applies to both numbers? There is no option to select both of either. Only yes or no.
Is there any way to forward only the texts from my wn to the secondary iPhone? I need to be able to keep communication clear and manageable. Any ideas here? In the meantime while I figure this out, can I have those calls and/or more importantly texts ALSO forwarded to an additional app only installed on that phone? Not only forwarded, but also forwarded? As a “just incase”?
I need to make sure everything is coming through while I work out the kinks and get this working just right. I don’t want to forward the number exclusively if I won’t be able to troubleshoot and greatly prefer it being done through iCloud.
any suggestions here?
