Can’t backup iPad or iPhone to iCloud using xFinity router

I have four Apple devices. Since I got a new modem from xFinity, only two devices will backup to iCloud. I spent 4 hours on the phone with Apple yesterday and they can’t explain it. XFinity says its not their problem because I have other devices that backup perfectly.

Hello by,

This page can provide some helpful steps for issues with backing up to iCloud: If you can't back up to iCloud - Apple Support

Note that there'll be different sections depending on any errors that may have come up. In Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup, check to see if there is text under the Back Up Now option that indicates the issue.

For example, if you see "your last backup couldn't be completed", then the page will provide the following steps:

1. In iOS or iPadOS, go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Check that you're connected to Wi-Fi.
2. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update. Download and install any available updates for your device.
3. Try to back up on another Wi-Fi network.
4. Check to make sure that you have enough iCloud storage for the backup
5. If you still need help, contact Apple Support.

Cheers.
