Syncing icloud contacts with gmail contacts not happening.

I am using an iphone 13 pro. I use a windows 11 pc. I am confused as ****. I have gone over and over settings and cannot figure this out. I have icloud and gmail accts setup and signed in on iphone. When I display contacts the icloud list has 154 on iphone and the gmail list has 211. When I display contacts on windows 11 pc by signing into icloud it shows 201. I try entering a bogus contact in icloud on the iphone which is setup to sync with gmail contacts. It does not show up in gmail contacts. It does show up in icloud contacts on pc. As I said, I have checked settings over and over again. Even checked to make sure 'use SSL' was on in gmail advanced contacts setting. I have tried switching which acct is the default on the iphone. I don't think the default would make any difference. The gmail account at this point has all of the contacts I want but I would like those duplicated on icloud. Why won't they sync when I put bogus one in icloud acct it does not show up in gmail acct.

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities!

There currently isn't a way to automatically sync your contacts from iCloud to Google or vice versa.

While you can view both accounts on your devices, they can't currently be set to sync with each other.

Yes, Im at a level of exasperation on the contact issue. I use a Mac and an Iphone both current OS. I use gmail.

Up until recently, Ive simply copied the contects of my Apple contacts table over to gmail manually. Easy. Now recently when I do that the contacts disappear from the gmail list. Or at least most of them. Apple says it is not their problem, however I note that the records that somehow stay in my gmail table have a "google card" flagged in the Apple table. Apple support did not know what that data is or how it gets there. I am desperate.
