How do I delete multiple duplicate Notes at once?

While trying to 'backup' all my notes I have managed to duplicate them all (2000+). How do I remove the duplicates other than one by one deletion?

Thanks

The following procedure is valid for Sonoma:

Let's say you have a total of 2000 duplicate notes and you want to remove 1000 of them.

1) open Notes

2) in the toolbar select icon view.

3) sort by date

4) uncheck group by date

5) resize the icon window so that you form two columns of elements of 1000 notes each

6) each row in the thus formed "table" contains a pair of identical notes

7) press option left click starting from the first element of the left column, draw down the cursor until you reach the end of the column and the 1000th note in the left column has been selected (all the frames surrounding the notes have become red)

8) in the toolbar press the trash icon

9) beach balling may last up to 5 minutes, depending on the CPU load (Notes is not responding but don't worry), until all notes have been removed

10) Voilà, your duplicate notes should be gone (in the recently deleted folder). Now you can select the deleted notes in the recently deleted folder to permanently deleted them (Notes will ask: are you sure you want to delete the 1000 notes permanently?) Say yes and they are gone.

Hope this helps guys
