I have an old apple watch series 3, its os is old now, when am trying to upgrade the software it does not allow me by saying you are not connected to the internet.
i had accidentally damaged this watch and recently got it fixed. now am unable to pair it.
I already have a new series 7 watch but would like to use it for my dad.

If you get message saying it’s not connected to the internet during an update:
If you see 'Unable to Verify Update' when updating Apple Watch - Apple Support
If that doesn't help, try this, on the paired iPhone tap:
My Settings> App Store > Cellular Data > Automatic Downloads
and turn it off to force updates over WiF!
FWIW a lot of people have had trouble updating a series 3 watch. With the limited memory in a series 3 watch, your best option may be to make an appointment at the Genius Bar in an Apple Store near you and let them look at it:
