With limited opportunity from purchase date, one could see IF

the Limited warranty may be extended to 'AppleCare Plus' for

additional fee or by subscription. These have or had different

rules; and 'might not cover' repairs, after time span elapses.

Legal - AppleCare+ - Apple

Extend your AppleCare+ coverage - Apple Support

//support.apple.com/en-us/HT210580

Apple Legal pages have information, & AppleCare+ pages.

Depending on region and levels of offered coverage; this

may not mean anything at all, once a device sees damage.

AppleCare Products - iPhone - Apple (if add'l coverage exists)

//www.apple.com/support/products/iphone/

Sometimes a window of opportunity may arise, where one

could buy an extended coverage, and get repair coverage

almost immediately after; but not always. Subject to change.

This is where an Accidental damage not otherwise covered

might be. Additional ideas: include looking into 'Homeowner

or Vehicle' insurance plan coverages; and ask if they'd fix it.

..Existing other insurance, may offer an exception for this..
