The Apple Store here would not replace the defective port on my son's iPhone 11, and he was willing to pay $100-150 for repairs. Instead, he was offered a refurbished iPhone 11 for a lot more money than that.
The explanation......that's the way it is. My son took the phone to another unauthorized shop and they replaced or repaired the port for about $75 as I recall.
But, maybe things will be different with an iPhone 7. Let's wait to see what Sweettoothan reports.
The Apple Store or an authorized Apple Service shop can replace the battery for about $69 U.S.
But, I would be surprised if they are able to replace the charging port, since they would not normally do this. Instead, they will usually quote you a price for a refurbished replacement phone.
Won't hurt to ask though.
Bob, why wouldn’t it be normal for an Apple Store or AASP to replace the charging port? I’m sure thousands of them get damaged in a year, which then have to be replaced.
Or is it because it’s an older model?
Get an appointment at an Apple Store or Apple authorized service center for help with this.
Oh, I see. Thank you.
