Since it's past the 14-day return timeframe, you will need to pay a visit to your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have them take a look and provide you with your options. If either determines that this issue is due to a manufacturing defect, you should be able to get a replacement for free. Otherwise, you will need to purchase a replacement cable at full cost.
