Sidecar not keeping screen seperate

I am using a M1 MacBook Pro and using sidecar to have an iPad as a separate display. Previously, if I would use the three finger swipe for full screen applications, it would only swipe on the screen I was on with the mouse. Now, when I swipe, both the MacBook and Ipad change applications and the iPad goes to a black screen since there is no application there. Is there a setting that I missed? Works fine using the mirror function but not the extended display. Ideally I would like the iPad screen to stay still while I change apps on my MacBook.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.1

Hi there Chuyetoee,

If Sidecar is not working as expected, let's first ensure both your iPad and your MacBook Pro are fully updated. This installs feature improvements and fixes that can resolve unexpected issues. These articles show how to update each device:

Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

Once each device is updated, look over the 'Use gestures for scrolling and other actions' section here next to ensure what you are trying to do is able to be completed when using Sidecar: Use an iPad as a second display for a Mac

Take care!
