I would not buy an additional charger no.

There is no harm.

The rule of thumb—if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on the battery only—this is how you optimize your battery charging and extend the working life of your battery by reducing the cycle count.

If your laptop ships with the 96W power adapter from the factory, then that is the proper sized charger for the laptop (or you can use a larger one). Any smaller power adapter won't be able to properly power the laptop when it is being used which will cause the battery to drain to compensate for the smaller charger.
