I started a family plan for Apple Music but it’s not letting me add family member because it says I’m in my brothers plan but I called and asked him and my phone is not in his family sharing

Remove yourself from a family group
Any family member aged 13 or older* can remove themselves from a family group. If you have Screen Time turned on for your account, the family organiser must remove you.

See Leave Family Sharing - Apple Support. It is the Apple ID that is joined to a family share, not a particular device. Note you can only change families once per year.

Yes I tried that and when I click on family sharing this is what pops up
Not sure if the picture posted or not but it says this “X name is already used for shared purchases in Ys family. Ask Y to send you an invitation to join Family Sharing”
