My Ipad 3G IOS 9.3.5 can't download apps from Appstore anymore

It’s a decade-old iPad with an A5C 32-bit processor, and 1 GB of memory.

Nothing fits in that anymore, and ~no apps are written for devices that far back.

Oldest iPad series with current iPadOS 16 support is iPad 5th with an A9 64-bit processor, and 2 GB of memory.

That's because the app developers don't program Chrome for your iOS version. Given the age of iOS9, I don't know that they ever did. Even if they do offer an "older version" it is extremely unlikely it would stretch back that far—maybe iOS13 or iOS14.

Another problem with any "up to date" web browser will be it won't really be up to date on iOS9. iOS web browsers rely upon a basic set of software that Apple develops, and since that is now 7 years out of date, any modern web browser will be using those components that are 7 years out of date. That breaks the browser on many modern web sites that expect the latest.

The developers likely no longer support outdated operating systems.
