I have an old MacBook Air - and a brand new one - my Lumix connects perfectly to my old MacBook, but my new one doesn't even recognise that it is connected. Help please!

You didn't say which Lumix camera you have, but I'm pretty sure the issue you're seeing is that many apps and drivers need to be updated to work with Apple Silicon Macs.
If you head over to the Lumix site you'll most likely find updated drivers for your camera that support Apple Silicon (at least, I noticed this was the case for Lumix webcam).
