Ultra Watch dies after a swim

I went for a swim in a 4 foot pool and when I got out the watch face turned red and started trying to call SOS. I got it to turn off and then it would only show the Apple insignia, turned really hot and died. I paid a lot of $ for that watch and a month later I have to pay another $100 (insurance) to get a replacement...really!!! What is Apple doing about these failures with no physical damage to the face or the back of the watch? What will Apple do for me the next time (i'm not feeling good about this as I see it happening from other blogs) so that I don't have to pay for another watch?

Apple Watch is water resistant, not water proof. Water resistance is a condition that wanes over time, so it could be that your watch has water damage. See this link for more reference about water resistance on Apple Watch
