Changing providers/sim card iPhone SE 2020 Text messages/Voicemails

Hello,

Do you lose any data, such as old text messages,

old Visual voicemail transcripts/audio messages when changing cell providers and sim cards?

Can I view the all my old texts and old voicemails as before after I change carriers and sim cards?

I'm using the Apple voicemail app. I'm keeping the same iPhone and phone number.

I've been told this info is stored on the phone and iCloud and not tied to the sim card or carrier.

Just need to be sure please.

Hello marigeddings,

The existing messages on your iPhone wouldn't be impacted by changing to another carrier.

Concerning your voicemail, you would want to consult with your current carrier for more details per the information below:

Your voice messages may also be deleted if you change your SIM card.

You can also find that information in this resource: Check your voicemail on iPhone - Apple Support

Since voicemail is handled by your carrier, they would be in the best position to help further with preserving or accessing your current voicemails after changing your carrier or SIM card.
