Would love some Help! Voicemail: Error performing request - Unknown error 14 Pro Max
Iphone 14, Pro Max - Latest Software update (iOS 16.6)
When I attempt to set up my Voicemail, one of two things happens:
1) Most times an error occurs:
'Error performing request - Unknown error'
Whole screen is gray, and very basic looking (no design or effort in the look of the interface) like some repair mode.
There are no options. Just a large "Dismiss" button of the bottom of screen.
2) Other times when attempted, almost equally as often:
- screen will display that the call is being made, but there is no ring back tone, and nothing ever happens:
VOICEMAIL
calling...
It stays stuck on this screen, sometimes after a minute or two, screen will 'gray out' and present the "error performing request - unknown error" message; sometimes it wont, the screen will just stays stuck on the;
VOICEMAIL
calling...
This continues indefinitely, until, I'm assuming, the phone runs out of battery. If the hang-up button is pressed, the following is displayed (interface looks normal, like a typical failed call:
VOICEMAIL
Call Failed
I have made many attempts to try fixing it, bellow is a list of things already attempted:
- reset network settings
- on/off airplane mode
- on/off imessage
- attempted from multiple locations
- disabled call forwarding
- asked my most techy Apple friend
Additional potentially necessary info:
This is a brand new phone purchased from the Apple Store, Town Square, Las Vegas. Voicemail has given me this error since the purchase of phone. (never worked)
A Voicemail was not set up on the previous phone associated with the phone number.
Previous phone was a iPhone 14 Pro Max that was damaged beyond repair while traveling. Due to the accident taking place overseas, AppleCare did not cover the damage. That damaged phone has been removed from the account and removed from FindMy
I haven't noticed any other issues.
