No Audio in Apple Car Play Phone Calls

This problem randomly occurred and has persisted for months. When I attempt to call someone or I receive a call, I am unable to hear any audio and they are unable to hear me speak. When I call, no ringing occurs. When they call me, my ringtone plays but still I head no audio when I pick up the call.

Yes, I have turned my phone off and on. I have forgotten my car and reset it in settings. I have disabled and re-enabled bluetooth. I have tried multiple cords. I have updated my phone to the newest update. I have checked screen time restrictions. Siri is always enabled.

I have yet to find any answer to this irritating issue. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated! <3

It seems like you are experiencing issues with your phone's audio during calls. This could be due to various reasons, and here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to identify and potentially resolve the problem:

  1. If there are available firmware updates for your car's infotainment system that include CarPlay improvements, consider updating it.
  2. In the iPhone settings, navigate to "Screen Time" > "Content & Privacy Restrictions" > "Allowed Apps" and ensure that CarPlay is enabled.
  3. Make sure that your phone's volume is not muted or set too low. You can adjust the volume using the physical buttons or through the settings on your phone.
  4. Ensure that the call volume is turned up during calls. Some phones have separate volume settings for media and calls.
  5. Try making voice or video calls using different apps to see if the issue is specific to one app or a broader problem.
  6. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches. Turn off your iPhone, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
    1. Restart the device. That's it.
    2. Still not solved --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
  7. If the issue persists, you can try resetting all settings on your iPhone. This will not erase your data but will reset all personalized settings to their default values. Go to Settings > General > Transfer & Reset > Reset > Reset All Settings and confirm the action. Note that you will need to reconfigure your settings afterward. All settings—including network settings, the keyboard dictionary, the Home screen layout, location settings, privacy settings, and Apple Pay cards—are removed or reset to their defaults. No data or media are deleted.
    1. Reset All Settings: Return iPhone settings to their defaults - Apple Support:- Return iPhone settings to their defaults
    2. You can return settings to their defaults without erasing your content.
    3. If you want to save your settings, back up your iPhone before returning them to their defaults. For example, if you’re trying to solve a problem but returning settings to their defaults doesn’t help, you might want to restore your previous settings from a backup.
  8. Make sure you have the latest updates installed.
    1. Update Over-the-Air (OTA) —> Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support (IN)
    2. Update using iTunes/Finder —> Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support (IN)
  9. If the issue persists, consider reaching out to your car manufacturer's support team for specialized assistance with CarPlay-related problems.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it is recommended to reach out to Apple Support or visit an authorized service center for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your device model and iOS version.
