Install app to apple watch

I recently got an iphone 13. I switched over from iphone X. Most everything is working on my new phone, BUT...my Apple Watch does not have all the apps on it that it did when I used my iphone X. There are several apps listed in MyWatch that appear to be available to install. When I select one to install (that was previously on my watch before switching phones) I get a message on my watch to double click, which I do. The circle around the square next to the name of the app starts up, then a beep and within a couple of seconds everything stops and the word "Install" shows up again.

I have been able to select an app and get it to successfully install, so it seems like there are just several that won't work to install. Any suggestions?

I have tried the basic troubleshooting: turn off/on both phone and watch, checked for wifi and bluetooth connections and toggled both on and off both devices.

Thank you...

iPhone 13, iOS 16

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
