Sidecar does not work

Good day!

My Sidecar is not working on a Macbook Pro 16" 2021 with the Apple M1 Pro chip, running MacOS Ventura 13.5 (22G74), paired with an iPad Air 5 running iPadOS 16.6.

It's as if the function simply doesn't exist (see the screenshot attached). I have tried all the steps described in all the manuals, on the Apple website, and elsewhere. I even completely wiped the Ventura system and rolled back to Monterey.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? There's no point in mentioning iCloud login and other options from the manuals - rest assured, I've tried everything before resorting to a clean install of all available versions of the operating systems. The Apple chat support also couldn't help me.

In which it recommends opening a terminal window on your Mac and rest the bluetooth with

"sudo pkill bluetoothd"

worked for me after I had the exact situation you had.

It works with only certain versions of iPad. Have you confirmed you have a new enough iPad?

I'm still using my iPad 2 so I have no idea what's the latest version number.

I meant reset bluetooth. Don't use the "" signs.

You may have to type in your computer password in Terminal first
