Should I keep a key in my Mac?

I have YubiKey 5 Nano. I'm new to using keys. Does a key that stays in my Mac stop phishing and scamming emails?

No. This device is a hardware security device for your Mac. It's basically a way of logging into your Mac. It hs noting to do with email. You perhaps might consider reading up on the device your purchased on their website.

Unfortunately, the only way to stop those is to never surf the web and never use email.
