Apple Music Terminal blocks external display on Windows 11

Whenever I open my Apple Music terminal that I downloaded in Windows store, my external display stops to work. It shows nothing but black screen, sometimes blue screen, but in the setting-display settings, I can still see my external screen, just it displays nothing.

My setup:

  • Laptop: Lenovo ThinkBook 16p 2021
  • Socket: USB-C, using a dock to convert into HDMI to link to the external display
  • Monitor: an old Samsung 4k monitor
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro, Insider Preview 23511.1000

I can use any other software without having issues on my monitor, but Apple Music. Unplugging and plugging in the HDMI cable, USB-C cable doesn't help with getting the display back when Apple Music is on; but whenever I closes Apple Music, the monitor returns to normal.

I have searched for previous community issues and found similar ones, but it was on the website-based Apple Music. However, I have opened a web-based Apple Music and played songs, and that old issue does not bother me.

Hello YiqiaoWang,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

Does the issue persist if you attempt to access Apple Music using iTunes:

"Download and use iTunes for Windows 10

With iTunes for Windows 10, you can manage your entire media collection in one place. Subscribe to Apple Music to access millions of songs. Buy music and movies from the iTunes Store. And sync content from your computer to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Download iTunes for Windows 10 from the Microsoft Store

If you can't access the Microsoft Store

Additional details can be found here: Download and use iTunes for Windows 10

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details?

Cheers!

I have a similar issue with Apple Music Preview for Windows.

Apple Music 1.4.2.35

Windows 11 Pro

22H2

Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22662.1000.0

As soon as I start playing music, My external display starts to flicker, randomly.

It only happens with Apple music, I can play music on YouTube, from other desktop apps, even apple music on the web, everything is fine. But as sons as I hit play on Apple Music Preview the monitor goes bad.

And please, don't make me go back to iTunes, it is terrible for playing apple music.
