iOS no longer scans barcodes?

I'm talking _Barcodes_, not QR codes. I don't use the feature often, but I know it used to work, and right from the camera app, too. Seems like maybe iOS 16 did away with it, but possibly earlier?

A web search inevitably finds support for the QR code, but nothing for the ubiquitous plain old barcode. What happened with that, anyone know? TIA!

I don't recall iPhone ever being able to scan barcodes natively. But there are apps in the App Store, which you can download, which can help you scan barcodes. I can't recommend one in particular, but go out to the App Store and look for bar card scanner.

I always used a barcode scanner app for bar codes. Perhaps you did also? The built in QR code scanner is relatively recent.
