iPhone 14 Pro Battery draining and overheating in my pocket while locked
I've had this happen twice now. I noticed the phone was super hot in my pocket (like hot to the touch, not just warm). And discovered that the battery had been sapped. In the first instance I didn't catch it right away, and the battery drained nearly 50% in a couple of hours. I either had the phone in my pocket or on my desk, and then noticed it when I got up and had it in my pocket. I checked the Battery usage, and saw the steep decline, but didn't note anything unusual, app wise.
This second time, I noticed it again, and it had drained about 15%. I looked at battery usage and saw that I must have caught it near the beginning (within the first 15 - 30 minutes). Once again, the phone became super hot. Now, 15 minutes later with my phone out of my pocket I can still feel the warmth on that part of my leg. The battery usage showed camera was using a lot of power, but I had not turned the camera on. I closed every app, and shut the device down completely. The warmth subsided from the phone after about 5 minutes, and it became room temperature again. I powered it back up just now, and it seems to be getting hot again.
I don't use my camera - practically ever. Certainly not day to day. Most of the time my phone is locked and I'm listening to a podcast, and I've never had this happen before these two instances.
The device is using 16.5.1 (c) (the emergency security patch), and was fully charged.
