I understand that you can no longer connect to your AirPods. Have you already reset your AirPods? Maybe this will solve the problem. You can read more about how to reset your AirPods here:
Should this not help, have your AirPods been exposed to water for an extended period of time? It could be that water has invaded your AirPods and therefore they disconnect. Should this be the case, it would be best to let them dry out of the case, and especially not charge them.
