iPhone 13 & Photo Library

Regarding Photo app on my iPhone 13. When downloading images and saving them to the default album (recents).

After I move an image from recents to my album, the original image is in my albums. I only want the image to show in the new album.

Will this be a change soon? If an app can create a folder, why can’t apple do this request???

Albums aren't really places to store images, they are just lists of images stored elsewhere in the library. You never move an image into an album; you just add it to the list. An image can be in multiple albums at once this way without taking up extra space. (For example, a picture of your dog at the beach on vacation could be in a dog album, a beach album, and a vacation album.)

Even though Recents appears in My Albums on an iPhone, the contents are determined automatically by adding new images as they come in and tracking them as long as they are in library at all. In fact, at iCloud.com and in Mac Photos, Recents appears as a view of the library rather than an album.

It has been this way since Photos has first been released in 2015, on all Apple platforms.

A Photos Library is a relational database with several views. The Library albums are providing a basic structure automatically, grouping the library according to commonly used criteria, the data of import, the capture date, the media kind, the location, the people, pets, and objects in the photo. This basic structure is created automatically, based on all items in the library. It cannot be modified by the users. We are supposed to build our own views of the library on top of these predefined albums - use the Library as the foundation for your own thematic albums. Create your own “My Recents” album, if you need an album, where you can remove photos from, that you have added to albums. Our own albums can be modified freely.
