Need to free up memory on iPhone 11

I I have read that one way to free up memory on an iPhone 11 is to connect your phone to your computer. My computer is Adele and I have tried to do this but have not been successful. Question one how do I connect my iPhone 11 to my computer? Do I use the charging wire? Once I connected to apparently I need to use iTunes. What do I do next?
