Not all photos are uploaded from PC to iCloud Photos

My PC (Windows 11) iCloud photos folder were synced with iCloud. Around 11k photos. I proceeded to copy around 8k photos and videos to the iCloud photos folder and left it overnight to sync. In the morning the iCloud status on the PC was that all files were uploaded. However, the number of photos and videos on PC were 19k while iCloud had only 14k leaving 5k photos missing from iCloud. I checked my iPhone as well as iCloud.com and the pictures are not there.

What could cause this to happen?

Hi there Cristian__,

When you add photos and videos to iCloud from a Windows PC, you have to drag them to the iCloud Photos folder. Are you sure you dragged all the content you wanted added to iCloud? Learn more about that here: Add photos and videos to iCloud from your Windows computer - Apple Support

Also, it's possible some of the file formats of your photos weren't compatible with iCloud. Did you see any error messages during the upload process? Make sure you followed the steps here: Set up and use iCloud Photos on your Windows PC - Apple Support

Next, did you check to be sure you have enough storage space available in iCloud? Find out how to do that using this support article: Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support

Take care.
