Charging IP X and APPLE CAR PLAY?

Looking at the guide from Ford, they don't specify which USB port to connect it to, it just says "a USB port".

Generally the USB port for data is going to be the closest to the infotainment screen. So for example, if you have a USB port down by the gear shifter below the screen and hvac controls and then you have a USB port in the center console, the one by the gear shifter is most likely the one for data. If you have multiple USB ports near the infotainment screen, the data one is sometimes identified by having a while line around the opening or some type of symbol. If you have multiple ports and none of them are clearly identified, then just plug the phone into each one until you see the prompt on the infotainment screen to setup CarPlay to figure out which port is used for it.

As to what cable you use, that will depend on the type of USB port your vehicle is equipped with. If it has the older style USB-A ports, then you would use a USB-A to Lighting cable, like this: Lightning to USB Cable If it has the modern style USB-C ports, then you would use a USB-C to Lightning cable, like this: USB-C to Lightning Cable
