Cannot reset password on MacBook Air with the Apple id - error

Hi! Please help! :)

I am having an issue with the MacBook Air, i haven't used it for a long time and i forgot the password. I typed 3 times the password that i tought it was the correct one. After that, a prompt is showed "if i forgot the password to reset it with the apple id". I go to this option, but when entering the correct email address and password for apple id (checked it also on the phone that it's the correct one) it's showing an error message: "there was an error connecting to the icloud". The MackBook it's connected to wi-fi.

What should i do more? :(

Thanks!
