My iPhone is stuck in Zoom mode and I cannot get out

I tried the Zoom function in Settings > Accessibility. Then I double tapped with three fingers to try it out - what a mistake! Now I cannot get out. My iphone SE (gen 2) has come to a complete crawl - it takes minutes to respond to anything, if it responds at all. Double tapping with three fingers will not take me out of Zoom mode. I tried a hard re-start (pressing volume buttons and then holding side button) and after the re-start it's still stuck on Zoom mode and is extremely slow and unusable. I can't even navigate back to Settings > Accessibility because it won't respond. What a horrible bug! I'm at a complete loss without my iPhone. Thankfully my Apple Watch is helping me get by somewhat.

You might want to try a triple-tap with three fingers, then drag the Zoom Level slider”.

More info:

(NB: Article below is for iOS 16 ... else please change the iOS version at the top of the article for accurate info.)

Zoom in on the iPhone screen - Apple Support

Eg Says:

“Adjust the magnification:

Double-tap the screen with three fingers (without lifting your fingers after the second tap), then drag up or down.

Or

triple-tap with three fingers, then drag the Zoom Level slider”.

All the best :-)
