iOS upgrade to new version
Hi Community,
When a new iOS version is released (e.g. 16 -> 17) does it make sense for a correct installation first to do a hard reset and then install the new update via PC?

What do you mean by "hard reset"? That's not a term Apple really uses. Do you mean a forced restart? If so, no. Do you mean reset the phone to factory state? No, also not necessary. Whether you do the update by connecting the phone to a computer or over the air is a personal preference. I haven't done an update by connecting my phone to my computer for years.
My suggestions:
- You should make sure that your phone is backed up. Of course, you should back up every day regardless of whether or not you plan on updating.
- Make sure that the phone is at least 50% charged and preferably connected to a power source.
- Make sure you have a good WiFi connection.
- Don't be trying to use the phone while it's updating.
