I can text from my iPhone to android users, but I can't use the message app on my MacBook computer to text android users. Is there a setting I can change from my computer? I've lost my phone and temporarily need to text from my computer. Thanks!

Unfortunately not. Android users use a texting system that is not available to iPad or Macs.
Alternatively, you could ask those Android users to install Facebook Messenger, or other universal messenging client like Skype, Teams, or Google meeting that is platform independent.

Check with your carrier. Some carriers offer a web-based interface for sending and recieving SMS messages through their service. I know my carrier does. It was very helpful the time I mislaid my phone.
