Ipad apps not showing and keeps going black with the loading circles

My daughters ipad has suddenly stopped working.


All the apps have disappeared off the home screen not even the settings app is there. And then when you tap on it to try and get it working the screen goes black and shows the loading circle thing for a few seconds then it comes on again with no apps on the screen. It also won't charge.


She hasn't downloaded anything onto it as I have to approve everything before she does, as she's only 8.


The only change before this was that I called the Ipad from my Iphone while she was using it and thats when it stopped working.


It's a 2021 9th Generation Ipad, she's only had it about 18 months.


Is there any way I can fix this or am I going to have to book in with Apple at the Store?

Try a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:


Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.




Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.




If the problem persists after performing the restart, it may be necessary to restore your iPad.
