My phone is still getting hot quickly after I just I had the battery replaced

My phone was getting hot very fast. I took it to the Apple store on Friday. They did full diagnostics and said the only thing it needed was a new battery. They replaced the battery but since then it is still getting hot if I’m on it for less than 30 minutes.

What else could be causing this problem?

iPhone 7, iOS 15

You should certainly take it back to Apple if you have concerns. However, some things to consider: Phones get hot when operating under heavy loads such as graphics-intensive games. As long as it isn't too hot to hold and no warning appears on the screen that the phone needs to shut down, you may not have a problem. And, in the Northern Hemisphere, it's summer and hotter than usual in many places. It's entirely possible that, unless you're in a temperature controlled environment, you're using the phone outside of its operating requirements:

Environmental Requirements

    • Operating ambient temperature: 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C)
    • Nonoperating temperature: ‑4° to 113° F (‑20° to 45° C)
    • Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing
    • Operating altitude: tested up to 10,000 feet (3000 m)
