Hello!
I'm going to buy the brand-new iPhone 15 when it comes out!
But I would not like any videos or pictures to show on it from my old one (I have a ton of stuff on iCloud).
Is there a way not to show anything on the new one, while still using the same Apple ID?
Edit: I will be keeping my good old 12 Pro Max, so that is the reason I'm asking this :)

Your new phone will presumably start with an empty Camera Roll, and it will take the phone a while to download everything even if iCloud Photos is on by default, and the phone starts synchronizing immediately.
I would set up the phone, then immediately go into Settings and turn off iCloud Photos. (The less time that you give it from finishing setup to turning off that switch, the less the phone could possibly download.)
Then check Photos / the Camera Roll and see if any unwanted photos are in there, and if so, select them all and delete them. Do not do this before verifying that iCloud Photos is turned off on the new phone. If you delete a photo when iCloud Photos is turned on, it will be treated as a request to delete that photo everywhere.

You could turn off iCloud Photos on the new phone, while keeping iCloud synchronization turned on for other things like Calendars and Contacts.
But then none of the photos and videos you take with your new phone will be uploaded to iCloud. You will probably want to copy them off using other means (e.g., Image Capture).
Sounds good to me, my new phone will be 256GB at least, I only needed I cloud because well, 128GB...
How could I go about disabling iCloud Photos before it synchronizates?
