Help I can not open my pages the password is not working

Are you currently sharing passwords and Keychain settings between iOS and macOS?

iPhone (iOS 16 and later)

Settings : tap on your name/avatar : iCloud : Passwords and Keychain : On

Mac (Ventura and later)

System Settings : click on your name/avatar : iCloud : Passwords & Keychain : On

These settings should allow you to open a Pages document on your Mac or iPhone without providing the password. There are caveats:

1. If you reset the Keychain or replaced it with an older version without that document's stored password, it will propagate across devices and the document cannot be opened by anyone.
2. If you are attempting to open that document in another user account, or off of iOS/iPadOS/macOS on another device, you will need the password to open the document.
3. Neither Apple nor anyone on earth can unlock that document short of your remembering the password if any of the above are true.

If you set a password on a Pages document and did not select the Remember this password in my keychain option on that panel, then you must either store that password for subsequent access when you forget it, or never access the contents of that Pages document again.

Yes, I do have passwords and keychain on. I should have explained, I do know the document password. The problem is that it won't open the document, I just get an incorrect password. This happens across all devices, even the face recognition on my iPhone

As of November 3 2023, the Pages password stopped working for no reason.

I tried the fixes posted in the past discussions but no luck.

Yes, I did have password stored in Keychain

I have the same issue, lots of documents all with passwords.

One is not opening with password I know is correct and isn’t allowing Face ID to open it either ?
