"Not accepting calls" message received on call and then shown as cancelled call in history - meaning?

I recently dialed a number and got the message "This person is not accepting calls at this time" and on my recent call history it shows as a cancelled call. Does this mean my number was blocked by the person I called?

Thanks for your answer. The other thing I was trying to find out was the cancelled call identifier in the history for these calls. Everything I’ve read says Cancelled call is on where you the caller hung up before the call completed - can it also indicate a call blocked by the receiver?

Hello curious_51!

While I don’t quite follow you in your post, I can tell you that if the calls always go straight to voicemail, there’s a good chance the person has blocked you. If they sometimes ring for a bit, then you are not blocked.

It can also mean he/she doesn’t have service. As you may be able to see, it is pretty difficult to figure out if one is blocked or not. Reach out to them by a different method if you can, and see what’s up. If you can’t, then I guess you’re out of luck.

I hope this is helpful. Good Luck!

Cancel call identifier? I don’t know what that is. If you need further assistance with troubleshooting this issue, (if you believe that there is one,) consider reaching out to your Carrier and/or Apple Support:
