iPad takes hundres of screenshots of lockscreen for no reason

My photo gallery in flooded with screenshots of my lock screen. If I delete all those screenshots, the device will take new ones after a short time. It doesn't tell me when this happens, I don't do it. There is no reason. Anyone with a similar problem or a solution?

Yours is the first and only report of this issue that I have seen.

Have you installed your iPad within a fitted case? If so, try removing the iPad from the case. There have been issues of some third-party cases interfering with the physical buttons of an iPad.

I do have it in a third-party case, as it's the safest option for my use of it.

However, taking a screenshot requires pressing the start button, which is completely uncovered by the case.

Also, these screenshots are not taken like normal screenshots: There's no animation or sound effect when the screenshots are taken, they seem to just happen silently in the background.

So I feel like this can't be a problem relating to the physical buttons.
