Mystery Login Items

I have turned of login item that I have no idea what they are like "cohosted" from and unidentified developer.... can anyone tell me what this is and why it is on my computer....

like these and more..... can I delete them?

Those are background processes that are part of an App that are usually in your Application Folder. After the app is deleted from there, the background process will go away. Click the info circle to see if it gives you any information on the app that is associated with it.


If the app has an uninstaller, then that should be used to remove all fragment files that may be in different locations. Covenant Eyes is one such app that has an uninstaller that when it is run will remove the background process. celapid and cehostsd is probably related to Covenant Eyes. With the release of Ventura the system was reporting a different field/locaation from within an app in that login settings window. They are all from apps that you chose to download and install at one time.


However, many developer's got lazy and didn't update their app so that the app are was shown instead of the developer's name or some component name. You can usually find out which app they relate to with a Google search.


Unless you recognize the app from what's reported and don't want it you should ignore whaat you see there.
