Mailbox disappeared

I'm a fairly organized individual and consistently create and use Mailboxes to file my email correspondence. Earlier this week I used a mailbox, then the next day (or two max) it wasn't there. I definitely don't remember deleting it and would like to re-find it as it had important correspondence. I've read the threads with Deleted Mailbox and so far they're not helpful. PLUS, I don't have mail in my Time Machine Library, which might be a problem too but I'd love to solve the mailbox problem first if anyone can help.

Hi leeann47,

welcome to the Apple (user-to-user) Community.

Re: "Mailbox disappeared : would like to re-find it as it had important correspondence."

It is not that difficult to accidentally "swipe" a mailbox into another mailbox (eg: into the mailbox above or below it).

Any Maiboxes that contain other mailboxes have down arrow (v) when closed or right facing arrow (>) when open.

If needed: You can try searching for the important correspondence :

In Mail on your Mac, search for emails using your own words or using Mail suggestions and search filters....
