How to migrate from AppleTV3 onto AppleTV4

I own an AppleTV 3. Now I have earned a new AppleTV 4. How to transfer i.e. migrate all the settings from the aforehand AppleTV 3 to the new device?

You can copy some things that were signed into iCloud by signing into iCloud on the new one but you can’t “migrate” everything else. You will need to start from scratch on this one. Install and sign into Apps, preferred settings etc.

The 3rd gen didn't use any native apps nor use the same operating system. When setting up a new Apple TV you can use use your iPhone to automatically connect your account and setup Wifi and going forward you can setup One Home Screen so any apps you install will stay intact for any further Apple TV's being put in the house and/or any future upgrades.
