Cannot add Microsoft Exchange email account to Mail

I keep getting an Authentication Failed window that says: Failed to authenticate, please try again later.

I can sign on to my Office account directly from my computer, but for some reason Mail will not add it to Accounts.

I cannot add my Microsoft Exchange and Gmail accounts to Apple Mail. When I want to add one of them, a new pop-up opens stating that authentication needs to be done via browser, then I receive the same error for both: Authentication failed. They were all working fine, until last week, then there were synchronization problems. As I have to change passwords on both accounts. I have removed both accounts to add them again to solve the problem, but not I cannot even add new accounts to Apple mail.

Microsoft Exchange account in Mail "Unable to verify account" G'Day Community, I don't know if I'm having Macbook issue or Exchange issue. I have an Exchange email account in Mail in addition to a gmail account and an internet provider account. The gmail and IP account work fine, but I keep getting a situation where the Exchange account won't download and gives me the "Unable to verify account name or password" message. In the past we have had to delete the Exchange internet/email account and then re-add it. However, this no longer works. I deleted the exchange account from Internet accounts and Email accounts, but now when I try to restore them, I get the above message. The confusing part of this is the account is still active and working (sending and receiving emails) on both ipad and iphone Mail using the same account name/password combination. If I try to log into Exchange, same message and can't log in. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

Mail cannot access my Exchange account - 'can't verify account name or password' Hi, As of 27/10/22, My MacBook Pro running 10.15.7 won't log in to my exchange account and gives the message 'unable to verify account name or password'. I have not changed anything and the password is correct. My iPhone SE 2nd second gen can access the same account with no issue.

Probably need to set up 2 factor authentication to use Outlook, but you can confirm it with Microsoft https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook
