All Black ATV remote compatibility

Is the Black ATV remote compatible with the Apple TV 3rd generation (that comes with the USB-C aluminium remote)? The reason I am asking is because the aluminium remote is not compatible with some games such as Hit Tennis3.

Yes, the Siri Remote (1st generation) is also compatible with all later models Apple TV box so far.
