Can't Save Clip in Clips app on iPhone SE

I'm trying to learn how to edit short video clips on my iPhone SE (I often edit longer videos using iMovie on my MacBook Pro). I downloaded the Clips app. I chose my brief video, used Trim to edit it, and now I want to save it back to my Photos library. The problem is that the Save Clip icon is not lit up, so I can't save it (or perhaps it is already saved?). I've tried some work-arounds, like using Export, but Export to Photos doesn't show up as an option.

How do I save my edited video clip from Clips to my Photos library?
