Weird iPhone 12 Pro Max battery bug

1, When wirelessly charging the iPhone overnight with a magsafe charger, the phone doesn’t charge overnight fully overnight. It chargers to a random number, like 46% or 39%, sometimes 50s. Optimized charging is disabling.

2, After restarting the phone, the battery goes back up by 10%, but quickly falls back by 12% within 5 minutes.

Should the battery be replaced? Battery health is at 85% maximum capacity.

Not required to replace the battery now.

Charge your iPhone using the USB C cable that came along with the device for the time being till you trouble shooth problem using the following steps.

  1. Ensure that you are using a certified and compatible wireless charger for your iPhone 12 Pro. Also, check the charging cable and make sure it is not damaged or frayed.
  2. If you have a case or any other accessories attached to your iPhone 12 Pro, try removing them before charging. Some cases or accessories may interfere with wireless charging.
  3. Dust, dirt, or debris on the charging pad and your iPhone's back can interfere with wireless charging. Clean both the charging pad and the back of your iPhone carefully.
  4. If possible, try using a different wireless charger to see if the issue is specific to your current charger. This will identify whether the issue is with the charger or the iPhone.
  5. If possible, try using the wireless charger with a different iPhone to see if the issue is specific to your iPhone 12 Pro or the charger itself.

    2. Still not solved --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
  7. If the issue persists, you can try resetting all settings on your iPhone. This will not erase your data but will reset all personalized settings to their default values. Go to Settings > General > Transfer & Reset > Reset > Reset All Settings and confirm the action. Note that you will need to reconfigure your settings afterward. All settings—including network settings, the keyboard dictionary, the Home screen layout, location settings, privacy settings, and Apple Pay cards—are removed or reset to their defaults. No data or media are deleted.
    1. Reset All Settings: Return iPhone settings to their defaults - Apple Support:- Return iPhone settings to their defaults
    2. You can return settings to their defaults without erasing your content.
    3. If you want to save your settings, back up your iPhone before returning them to their defaults. For example, if you’re trying to solve a problem but returning settings to their defaults doesn’t help, you might want to restore your previous settings from a backup.
  8. Make sure you have the latest updates installed.
    1. Update Over-the-Air (OTA) —> Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support (IN)
    2. Update using iTunes/Finder —> Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support (IN)

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it is recommended to reach out to Apple Support or visit an authorized service center for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your device model and iOS version.

Probably Optimise charging is not disabled.

If Optimised Battery Charging won’t activate

Optimised charging is designed to only engage in locations where you spend the most time, such as your home and place of work. The feature won’t engage when your usage habits are more variable, such as when you travel. Because of this, some location settings must be enabled for Optimised Battery Charging to activate.* None of the location information used for this feature is sent to Apple.

Make sure these settings are enabled:

  • Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Location Services.
  • Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services > System Customisation.
  • Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services > Significant Locations > Significant Locations.
