My Apple Watch sensor burns

I’ve had my watch for over 2 years and have only recently started getting burn marks on my arm from wearing it. I wear my watch every day and use it for tracking exercise and movement. I’m so disappointed I can’t wear it

If you are feeling the watch is hot on your wrist (or generally hot to touch) a genuine heat burn is possible, but relatively unlikely because the watch battery is only small and does not really have enough power to make the watch hot for long enough to cause burning. You would certainly notice if this was happening, because making the watch hot would discharge the battery fairly quickly and you would be complaining about battery life.

It is more likely you have become sensitive to something in the watch or watch band, or possibly some kind if irritant like a soap or detergent trapped under the watch and not easily rinsed away. Take a look at this support document, and if you are unsure then consult your doctors who can look at the relevant arm with their own eyes.

Unfortunately, I too am experiencing a burn from my S5 watch. Ive worn it mostly during the day and some nights and I’ve had it for a very LONG time. This is the first time it has left a burn mark on my left wrist. I’m going to let it heal, however I’m a little hesitant to try to wear my watch again after reading through everyone’s comments. I do hope Apple addresses the issue because I rely heavily on my watch for my workouts and phone calls. Also, this seems to be a serious issue that affects hundreds of people. Why isn’t Apple taking it more seriously? That’s a bit alarming.

We have worn the watch since it came out. I recently jumped from the 5 to the 8 and all of a sudden I have burn marks behind the sensors (very obviously not a chemical/allergic reaction). The fact that Apple won’t acknowledge this or try to fix it is very off putting. My hubs and I already cancelled our watch services and are getting rid of our watches. Good luck getting us to buy into these in the future! We miss Steve Jobs. Going analog.

I too started developing a burn mark and little red dots. I even have a scar now from it. This definitely is from the watch sensor. This should not be happening, and I think Apple needs to be held liable for this and fix the issues. Especially since the watch is so expensive and now is pretty much useless if you can use the heart rate monitoring and sleep monitor. Which is why I purchased this vs others and bc I have other Apple devices.
