I set up a new 12 year old w/ a google account, including gmail. It works fine. However, when I add the gmail to the iphone, it will not receive emails. The email works fine on the web, and the icloud email work, but not the gmail. I thought it was maybe a privacy issue on Google, but cannot find any toggle that seems to work

I have spent several hours with Apple support to try to resolve the same issue for my son. Eventually somebody who knows at Apple explained that this is a Google restriction. Gmail restricts access to their email for anybody under 13 years old. Which explains the problem. It is not an Apple restriction or problem. The workaround is to download the gmail app and your child can access his/her emails through that.

I'm having the same problem now except it's my 13 year old and an iPhone 11.
Is it under 13? I do remember getting an email when she turned 13 about changes to her account.
But it says account error - gmail currently unavailable
