screen goes balck is it battery problem

I phone screen goes black and requires forced starting works for few days and happens repeatedly. Battery life says 77%. will new battery solve this?

iPhone 4s, iOS 9

Yes, a new battery will most likely fix the issue—for your Maximum Capacity is at 77%, but Apple says the battery should be replaced when the Maximum Capacity reaches 80%. So… yeah.
